Time Flies!

Today, my youngest turned eleven months old!

This past year has just flown by.
I love Facebook TimeHop...yet hate it all at the same time.

I love seeing all of the memories that come in that are full of joy and love.
And, then I think about how my sweet kiddos have changed in the last year,
and I get a little sad.

It is so true:
The days are long, but the years...they are SOOOOOOO SHORT!!!!

When I think about the fact that my sweet little babies, will Lord willing, grow into adults, I get teary. My chest gets a little tight, a slight panic sets in.

Who will they be?
Will they stick to the things we have taught them?
Will they make wise decisions in their life?
Will we still be talking to each other when they are adults?
Will they be parents?
What will they decide to do with their lives?
Will we become friends?

So many questions, and so many prayers!
I thank God that I do not know their futures.
I am thankful that their future is in His hands.

I constantly have to remind myself that my children are not in fact MINE.
They are His. My husband and I dedicated our children to Him before they were born.
We started praying for their futures long before they were thought of, and we continue to pray them daily...hourly...sometimes minute to minute.

Especially when they show that sweet gift of free will
and take their little lives in their own hands and talk back to one of us.

Some days are longer than others, but the years just fly by.
I am going to try my best cherish the moments that are short, but so sweet.
This is not easy all of the time.
There are days that I will GLADLY forget happened.
Days that were tough and oh so long.
But I will cherish the years.

What prompted a sappy post today?
This picture of my oldest three kiddos after they chose
their sister's special blanket, a year ago today.
Exactly one month before she was born.
Now she is here and loves her blanket.

Enjoy your babies today Momma.
I am not saying enjoy every minute, because there are days that are just HORRIBLE.

But cherish the years!

Proverbs 22:6
Start children off on the way they should go,
and even when they are old they will not turn from it.
